Proper Use of Crutches While Climbing the Stairs









1. Place body weight on crutches




2. Advance the unaffected leg into the stair



3. Shift weight from the crutches to the unaffected leg


4. Bring the crutches and the affected leg up to the stair

1. Stand and bear weight on the unaffected leg
2. Transfer body weight on the crutches  
3. Advance the unaffected leg between the crutches
4. Shift weight from the crutches to the unaffected leg
5. Align crutches on the stair
