EARLY DECELERATION - deceleration of fetal heart rate (compression of fetal head against cervix)
LATE DECELERATION - does not return to baseline (uteroplacental insufficiency)
VARIABLE DECELERATION - abrupt and dramatic (compression of the umbilical cord)
